kinda depressed i dun get to run in this year's sundown... waste my money for that lousy piece of top. =(

anyway, made my way to the Changi Exhibition Center after all, to send the Husband and the Sister in Law to run. for playing them out, i tot that i should at least show my presence. hahaha.

my involvement included buying a cup of ice cream to eat, drinking free 100-plus, queuing for free popcorn and candy floss! oh and the Goodfellas were there to play in their live concert too.

GSS Day #1

In a bid to "boost the economy", GSS starts earlier and earlier every year. This year, I'm not particularly excited over good deals, perhaps cos I can't really fit into some clothes that I usually will take a liking to.

Well, today is one of those "I blog about my life" days. Knocked off from an otherwise slack Friday (*sings to the tune of "it's Friday, Friday"...*)

Headed off to meet surely and cat for an impromptu dinner.

Surely muz be mad to order the overpriced prata from Old Town. But on account of that huge drumstick, it is a wee bit more worth the money, lah.
Introduced them to the soft boiled eggs on toast too! The slightly chao da toast is not doing justice to how great they taste! (Nice right? Hehe...)
And so, after the short and simple dinner, they went off to watch Panda while I loiter and shop.

Bot a dress and a skirt (elastic of cos)... And before long, I'm neatly propped in a corner, blogging. Really, I muz say, carrying a baby is NOT equal to carrying a thinkpad. -.-

So here I am, STILL loitering. And waiting. Waiting. Waiting. ... ... ...

taiwan porridge + katie!

Date: 13 May 2011 (aka Friday the 13th)
Venue: Goldleaf New Taiwan Porridge Restaurant (hidden in a secluded corner of Amoy Street)
Time: was 7.30pm, but by the time surely arrived at 8pm, we had already finished a mcSpicy nuggets meal upsized.

menu itself dun really look appetising. =(
who said it's WYSIWYG... we got a tiny plate of minced meat with salted egg. ok wait, we did get it, juz that the pic did not show how big the portions were. -.-
hmm, perhaps the most exciting thing that happened that night was the kate spade extra large box i received! yay-ness!
(ok we should stop this imitation soon, someday, my pics will come back to haunt me when i become famous...)
and my REAL katie! yay! cant wait to use it!
btw, i am waiting for miss namimi to send me our not so appetising pics of the food, so that you can judge for yourselves if this place is worth a go. =P

Pirates of the Carribean GALA PREMIERE!

YES! i got invited to the GALA PREMIERE of the Pirates of the Carribean!! (ok kidding, actually i won the tix, winning entry here...)

by in any case, i get to go! and so, the monday at work wasnt so bad, considering half my dept took the day off, cos of the public holiday on tuesday... had a busy day at work, mtg from 9-10am, followed by 10-11am, and then 2-3pm, and then 3-4pm! simply cant contain the excitement when 5pm arrived!

so, after the MRT train ride that seemed like eternity, im finally HERE! whee~!
waited for another what seemed like eternity for 7.30pm before i could collect my tix! strangely, the rating is TBC. so, if im underaged (i meant hypothetically, which never will happen), i get to watch alrdy and then realise retrospectively that it's RA or M18 or something?
premieres are fun, i get to take photos with life-sized posters, the ones closest to johnny and penelope themselves. haha. i have to admit, either my iPhone 3GS camera is lousy, or i've deteriorated in my photo-taking skills. i prefer to think it's the former. =D
that's me and captain jack sparrow! can u spot the similarity?... ok, if u really muz know, i tink that would have to be captain sparrow's eyeliner below the eye and my natural eyebags. zzz.
gala premieres are highly strict as well! they have a Mandatory Phone and Mobile/Electronic Gadget Check-In counter and employ the security company to confiscate (or rather, we surrender) ALL our electronic devices, PSP, iPhones, mobile phones, laptops, iPad (for what? as if iPad has camera lidat....) to ensure that the show does not leak out before it opens worldwide.

oh and it says "By attending, you consent to surveillance by security personnel" Be very afraid, u are being watched!
all in all, it was a FANTASTIC show at a brand new FANTASTIC IMAX cinema! will be hanging out there pretty often!

The MIL has been brewing some powerful chicken soup, double boiled.

Apparently she said the soup was "squeezed" out from the black chicken without adding any water at all! Really meh?

Thriller Live!

Spent the weekend catching a musical at the Marina Bay Sands Theatre! I guessed the last I caught was Queens, and it's quite an experience to be watching at the MBS.

For one, the reception area is gorgeous! Makes my walk all the way under the hot sun from Promenade worth the while...

We got a seat upgrade from circle to stall! Hmm afternoons are not a fav among musical watchers I guess.

Pirates of the Carribean!!!!!!!!!

OMGGGGGGGGGGG! i have not done this for a looong time, but i SO wanna go to the gala premiere of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES!!!!

and the reason why? cos i'm a big fan of JOHNNY DEPP! and JACK SPARROW!! waaaaahhhhhh, juz the thought of another of his shows is enough to make me hyperventilate and die!

i logged on to the facebook page (and like the page) to play some games... and i decided to join the pirate ship this time round... check me out!

oh and the third game is a matter of heng suay... abit like mastermind.. and i usually wont have much luck with such games... =( so played for half hour or so... juz to get A TIE. too much la. =(
in any case, i'm so gonna catch the movie! on the first day!

whilst i try my very best not to make fun nor demean people from other countries, sometimes, the flesh is indeed weak. and i find it considerably impossible to put up with them, well at least a minority of them.

was at the hawker center with my mama and papa and were looking for seats. there this girl was sitting right in the middle of a 6-seater table. when papa asked if the seats were taken, she pointed to the one opp her and said ''1''.

Question: then how come the 2 of them dun wan to sit at the corner lei?
NEXT question: is she from china?

turned out true indeed, she's from the land of the rising dragon! *blows fire* i mean i blow fire. grrr. she duno how to move to the side meh?!?!? and when the boyfriend (i suppose) returned back to the seat, she kicked up a fuss on why he left her there without money to pay for the sugarcane drink. oh faint.

anyway we continued occupying our seats and i continued eating my prawn mee and watching the 'show'. ha.

alright, i promise (i hope) that this will be the first and last time i'll be complaining abt foreign talents (not).

disclaimer: my opinion of this one occasion is not representative of how i feel over the rest of the 3, 4-billion people up above us. dun tink ALL of them are lidat anyway. :\

Visited KC's beautiful home at tanah merah the other day. Was too paiseh to ask if I can take some photos of his place. But I muz say, it's BEAUTIFUL.

I like the serenity of the neighborhood...

I like the 42" 3D TV!

I like the huge mirror behind the dining table!

But most of all, I love mocha! He's totally adorable! Hyperactive like a jack russell! This photo is not doing any justice to his hyperactivity!

well, according to cat, there is price tag, so means the item is real. R.E.A.L.

for now, i shall look forward to unwrapping it all over again! hahaha....

oh, the reason for the tiny photo is that cat is a very high profiled person who is constantly being stalked, so in order to protect her privacy (and safety), i had to resort to tis. SIGH.

well, she does bear some similarities to the very potential PAP candidate. one thing for sure, she will definitely stamp her feet and say "i dunno how to answer, lah" when faced with difficult situations. she will.

let me tell you why she will not make it as the next politician.
1. she did not do the victory peace sign! PEACE OUT!
2. the kate spade box is held at a wrong angle!
3. and finally, she's not act cute enough.

so the verdict is, stop dreaming about the extremely high paying government position, and be thankful at your 9-5 job, ah meow! hahaha......

WYZ FAMILY DAY!

IT'S FAMILY DAY! this year's family day incorporated a 5km run and a 3km brisk walk! as for me, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. wahahah, so i ended up appearing in a pretty dress and looking beautiful, while the rest of them slogged their way through the long run. =P
Guess what? PK and Sun really appeared! haha, up close and personal!
other than the feet-biting ants, i had great fun helping out in the food competition as well as the drinks station. quite abit of exercise for me if you ask me (yes, my idea of exercise had degraded to poking straws into mineral water.)

looking forward to more family days in future! yay!
