not exactly the best way to end the year... but well, i guess i only have myself to blame...

eye infection since last week and is still continuing today... got myself another 2 day MC... but seriously, i am not looking forward to the MC. need to be at work, esp during crucial moments like this...

oh God, i need eyes to heal soon!!!

dinner at hot tomato!

well, it's not exactly the kind of place i would like to be chilling out over dinner. but since there aint any colorful XLB at the paradise inn next door, we settled for this instead.

u know the advert which screams out "I LOVE MY STEAK 'N' I LOVE MY PASTA"? pretty cheesy, and it kinda caused me to be not very optimistic abt the food...
quite on the contrary, the food turned out not bad, delicious i would say, ESPECIALLY caesar's salad!
i'm so motivated i decided to make my own... YAY! my creation!
and so, i will be healthy for the next... 3 days.

christmas is my papa's birthday too!

for the longest time, have not really have a birthday party, esp for papa. he's a frugal man u see. makes me wonder if i am really the daughter, looking at the vast different in spending habits. arghs.

that's sister and papa. thank God got sister's present to cover my ass. hahaha. as usual, i am the bo sim one who always forgets presents.

finally finally, i braved myself for buffet AFTER the stanchart marathon, didnt want to carry so much weight with me while i run u see.

got ourselves some vouchers (which wasnt really worth the while, cos there are similar credit card promotions going on every now and then) and headed for the Melting Pot for dinner.

well, the food wasnt really FANTASTIC, in fact, if u are meat/seafood lover, u'll be in for a disappointment.

nonetheless, the threesome (whoo...) had quite a great time eating, catching up, and erm, laughing over cat's silliness (i call it the "being-warned-alrdy-still-die-die-wanna-go-ahead" incident)

and for the record, this has to be my latest bday dinner! hahah. thank you to surely and cat for arranging! well, we can always butter factory the next time round..

oh i muz mention that cat and surely are so NICE to accompany me on the circle line when they could be taking the north-south line. and oh i muz also mention that they are so KIAM CHAI to experience train fault... keke... kiam chaiiii...

oh my gosh, i can't believe it's December alrdy! and i thought it was juz a few months ago when i was racking my brains on the NY resolutions. =D

the 10KM SCM....!

yes! i completed my first 10km in my lifetime! hopefully, this will not be the last 10km i am attempting.. hehe..

~dats how FARRRR away we are from the start line....~

indeed, this SCM is a yoyo of emotions!

at the start line, i was all hyped up and ready to go.. -->
and it only lasted till the 2km mark.. which is the UPslope towards MBS..

~wat good encouragement, funny nonetheless~

the rising sun did not help at all.. at the 5km mark, i was almost fainting.. yea, v lao kui, but heck, i am not born a runner ok!

but was thinking to myself, if i were to faint there and then, i would be transported back in an ambulance.. and high chance that i was the ONLY ONE who fainted in the shortest km category.. so NO! i am not gonna end up DNF!

oh, and i was furious when they set up TWO lookalike finish line! why would they have a FAKE finish line and then the real one 750m away! FURIOUS! i used up almost all the energy i can squeeze out from my flabs and there's still 750 freaking metres to go!? %^*#($^*#&#(

but in the end, i did finish the race.. with a few positive provocation in between:
1. a blind participant led by a lady
2. a participant in a wheelchair
3. sis-il who walked with me a distance while i was seeing stars. for a moment i thought she might be the Holy Spirit...
4. my gong cha reward after the race (which did not materialise by the way. -.-)
5. oh, and the encouragement on someone else's back that says: "let us run with endurance the race that is set before us..."

YAY! so wat's next? the sundown? heh.

in a desperate attempt not to look bad on SCM2010, i went jogging on the treadmill. terrible mistake. cos my iPhone decided to jog together with me. it fell and went down the moving belt and onto the ground. =( =( =(

ok, im supposed to do tis thing 3 times over to get 10km right? i'm so dead.

yet another bday celebration!

i tink i am on my way to becoming fat tis month. but at the same time, i'm enjoying all the bday celebrations! ha good food good company! opted for CURRY FAVOR at stamford house. wat a pity, that the place will soon be closed on 25 Nov, and Stamford House will soon be gone... arent they supposed to be keeping beautiful buildings as heritage or something? =(

anyhows, the food turned out to be better than expected. a lot of curry, a lot of katsu with cheese... tis pic aint doing the food any justice, and wats more, curry comes in another Aladdin lamp lookalike jug..

bday at home!

celebrated bday at home with mom's famous (but v healthy) steamboat, speaking of which, i should really contemplate bringing her to see the steamboats stores along bugis. i tink she will freak out. hahaha.

and cos the evil sister is the photographer, she aint taking any nice pictures of me! *frowns* and it doesnt help that she insisted on standing BEHIND me so that she will look SMALLER! zzz.
so this is the best one i can find. lousy photographer! hmph!

birthday dinner! again!

this has gotta be by far one of the best bday dinners for the entire year for us!

VENUE: Seafood Paradise @ the Flyer (NOT defu lane)

given the atas-ness of the place, it didnt help when we had weiwei among us creating a din and making our table look like something out of a tze-char stall. -.-

and the very kiam kanna us returned the appetiser snacks and the wet tissues, hoping that that will contribute to another tiny pincer of a crab. ha!

but i muz say, we totally enjoyed the FOOD and the FELLOWSHIP!

~very green wasabi prawns, abit like the ones we ate at marina mandarin~

~coffee pork ribs, taste and smell delicious to me, although sceptical tim said that he had tasted even better ones elsewhere.~

so far... we were all eating normally... until the CRABS came... den we went amok... ordered salted egg crabs and creamy crabs! they're a must-try!

and apparently, the 馒头aint enough for us to suck dry the creamy cream, we HAD to order another plate! hahahha.... this is madness.~macha green tea red beany cake, thanks to kimmywawa~

i guessed the crabs got us very distracted we almost forgot we are celebrating bdays until the cake came... we were all doe-eyed and looking dreamily at our arriving cake, until the waiter (aka staff of the month) came, asked how many candles we need on the cake, and went back into the kitchen WITH THE CAKE... we went " . . . . . . . . . " for 2 seconds and then burst out into hysterical laughter for the next 10 minutes!

all in all, we ate pretty reasonable priced stuffs i would say, for a seafood restaurant, we were indeed frugal. perhaps we should celebrate bdays once every say, quarter next year? den we can go for more UP food. hehe...
and as they always say, it's the fellowship more than the food. so thanks guys for remembering and turning up to celebrate our bdays. u guys rock! LUVYA!
