Face it. You are a big part of the reason why your marital status still reads 'single'. Lydia Gan, who is the principal director of Wow-Her.Com, an online value creation magazine that provides dating tips and relationship advice for singles in Singapore, gives her reasons for what she feels is a lack of oomph in Singapore's dating scene.
She lists 10 of them here.
1. Lack of Confidence
2. Clueless In Love
3. Denying the Coming of Age
4. Wa Bo-Chap! a.k.a I Can't Be Bothered
5. Consistently "Not Ready for a Relationship"
6. Kia Pai-Seh, or Afraid of being Embarrassed
7. The Fear of Commitment
8. No Money to Date
9. Too Busy
10. Haven't met someone suitable yet

so.. if you happen to fall into the single community and happen to find yourself giving one of the abovementioned reasons.. read more abt it here... :)

island life, LOVE it!
it takes some encouragement and some catalyst to finally apply for a day's leave to catch up with the sun..
so here i went, a tuesday's worth of sun..
woke up at 10.30, hadn't missed much, since the morning sun was juz a prelude of wat was gonna be full blown (or shone?) haha..
thank God for vivocity, where we settled our last minute grocery shopping, filled our stomachs with cheaper alternatives of food rather than sentosa's overpriced stuffs, and utilising the toilets to the max before heading for the island's open concepts one.
the rest of the afternoon was simply... hot. haha.. cindykoo joined us halfway, which was good enough since she's alrdy so black. more like weiwei had to have a headstart first.
[pondering upon] whether to get the islander pass or not.. hehe.

little miss lazy...
i am lazy, simply too lazy to blog.. let's see..
to post a picture up requires connecting the renowned E65 phone to the laptop using the cable, simply cos the bluetooth is not working.
to write a blog requires me to activate my otherwise dormant mind, and that is pretty hard work.
to change the colors and the layout of an entry requires total concentration, so that any htmls and javas and the wat nots are in place.
how! i need motivation!

september started with a tsunami, perper was injured, aldo bag was lost. :( so i am on the road to recovery now.. thank God for great friends like mimi and mornkey.. and thanks for that $70 concealer too. even the case is pretty! haha looks like i have alot to conceal.

fine dining
actually, i aint looking forward to the BBD.. cos:
1. it cost $110 (half price for me though)
2. it's on a sunday night. and that means my sunday afternoon is gone.
3. i need solitary time to myself... :)
but den again, there appears to be something else that is drawing me to the dinner. someone else more likely..
the dinner actually started 2 weeks ago, where all of us went frantic as to wat to wear.. all thanks to my fairy godmother for providing the pretty pink dress!
den came the sunday afternoon.. as usual, i am too lazy to make a trip home after svc. so there i was, amongst the few pple lugging huge bags to the dinner..
we'll neva feel secure until we've spent at least half an hour in the ritz toilet.. haha. changing and dolling took up approx 10 min. the rest of the time was spent slumping into the comfy couch.
the rest of the evening was simply food, pictures, more food, more pictures.. until we came to the part where we learnt abt.. erm chasing donkeys.. you'll never know when u meet that intersection of opportunities. :)

a day well spent.
i muz admit, much as i wished i was lying on the beach somewhere in sentosa doing nothing over the holiday, or hanging out at the gym, i was glad i had something constructive to do. eh no offense to some pple who like to hang out at sentosa, or the gym. haha.
the day didnt start well with a big fat lizard landing on my lap from the aircon vent above me! dammit. wat a traumatising thought. let's move on.
who said i cant be working out with my kids. we had a fun game of captain's ball. pple running everywhere, pple catching the ball and screaming as if the sound (or rather noise) will resonate and expel the opponents, pple falling and eating grass, pple knocking into me and flying off, pple standing around laughing at the abovementioned pple. haha. maybe i should pick up some ball games again...
and then it was cg. keng and sk did a wonderful job of coordination. moral of it all, never despise your God-given talents. and use them for God's sake (no pun intended)!
and then it was steamboat! eh we kinda went vegetarian, but it aint the food, it's the company you see. battle of the steamboats soon started with me sitting on the fence (as usual). to the tomyam pot when it was boiling and to the chicken stock pot when tomyam is dry.

ode to singapore!
(font and background to the patriotic color of red and white! yay!)
remember the "I am SIngaporean" podcast a year ago? oh well, i do am proud to be singaporean. much as there are countless criticisms abt the education system, the astronomical rates of ERPs and COEs and the like. really.
tis year the parade was held for the very first time on a floating platform. oh well, didnt manage to get the tix to the parade. but it's ok. i aint hard up for it, or rather i wasnt hankering after it with all my strength. at the very least, i was even too lazy to bother to logon to ballot for it. ok, for a start, i promise myself next year i will ballot, enter all the sms contests i can find, and probably make some army regular friends, preferably the commandos. haha.
and there it was, yea, the floating platform. all i can think of the entire show (which i happily watched on tv), was whether the platform was moving. and if the pple on top feel faintish. and occasionally run out to the corridor to watch the flag fly past and the airshow and of cos the fireworks. funny sight to see the fireworks and hear the booms 3 secs later.
anyhows, glad that there was the hol break. my only question is... why isnt Friday a public holiday too? *cry*

juz a couple of days and she is misbehaving. getting out of hand! arghs!
our God reigns........
40 million babies lost to Gods great orphanage,
It’s a modern day genocide and a modern day disgrace
If this is a human right then why aren’t we free?
The only freedom we have is in a man nailed to a tree.
100 million faces, staring at the sky,
Wondering if this HIV will ever pass us by.
The devil stole the rain and hope trickles down the plug,
But still my Chinese take away could pay for someone’s drugs.
The west has found a gun and it’s loaded with ‘unsure’
Nip and tuck if you have the bucks in a race to find a cure.
Psalm one hundred and thirty nine is the conscience to our selfish crime,
God didn’t screw up when he made you...
He’s a father who loves to parade you...

in layman's terms: the study of human stupidity

everyone is stupid sometimes. some people raise it to an art form. we can learn alot from stupidity, either our own or that of others. lately, there seems to be a number of.. specimens. for me to work on.

spider pig... spider pig...
(font color to the likes of margie's hair... )when was the last time you watched a movie at LIDO?
the last time i watched, before yesterday, should be the time when i was in secondary school. remembered so vividly i watched a movie at 9ish. but that was the day of the chingay procession as well. so we sat on the lido ledge to watch chingay too..
anyhows, we headed for lido after dinner for a movie. everything, from the cinema to the advertisements, is so old-school! except that the squeaky chairs are gone though.. the signature "pillar in the cinema" and "toilet within the theatre" thingy still remain!
btw, the popcorn is superbly nice! you can even ask for extra butter! yummy...

the perfect man
The perfect man is gentle
Never cruel or mean.
He has a beautiful smile
And keeps his face so clean.
The perfect man likes children
And will raise them by your side;
He will be a good father
As well as a good husband to his bride.
The perfect man loves cooking,
Cleaning, and vacuuming too
He’ll do anything in his power
To convey his feelings of love on you.
The perfect man is sweet,
Writing poetry from your name.
He’s a best friend to your mother
And kisses away your pain.
He never has made you cry
Or hurt you in anyway.
Oh, heck this stupid poem...
The perfect man is gay!
Never cruel or mean.
He has a beautiful smile
And keeps his face so clean.
The perfect man likes children
And will raise them by your side;
He will be a good father
As well as a good husband to his bride.
