beary cOnrad
Clockwise from top:1. glad with her food. obviously the collage is such that you guys cant see how many bowls i have in front of me. hahaha.
2. machiam prom night, lah! the food came in batches, and we grew tired of waiting. the flowers and the decor came in real handy in our phototaking session. hehe.
3. ooh! here's the conrad bear! apparently, it created alot of hoohars that night. nonetheless, i got the bear! wahahha.
random thoughts...
have been deliberating the worthwhileness of being helpful. it sometimes does gets on my nerves to see how pple can take you for granted. but nonetheless, i shall juz be nice. after all, i answer to the One up there someday.
anyway, and so it was, we've moved back to EXPO! yay. nay, bittersweet really. it didnt make much difference to me in terms of waking time, whether it's expo or JW. juz that now, i have more freed up time on sunday to myself.
svc ended exceptionally early today. spent sometime lunching at airport. the olive tree pasta is still cheap and good, lah.
went recee for some nice pastries and bread after that. the 4 leaves mini world is still the best! 5 for $2.60. i need to stir myself up to be enthusiastic. how? sigh.
popped by Borders after that. time to myself was pretty therapeutic. flipped through the Bunny Suicide book. cant stop laughing (out loud) to myself. i tink i am a saddist. *muahaha*
**********
on a totally different note, we had our CHOCOLATE FONDUE on saturday. hehe. that $20 packet of chocolate is worth the money. good, considering i am one who aint very interested in chocolate. let's do it again another day. =)
**********
went to support DreamFactory at Bishan for a gig. PLAY ON's the name of the event. a smaller scale thingy compared to World Battle of the Bands. nonetheless, the standard of the musicians are there.
once again, we are the photo junkies!

fresh fish for sale today =)
"Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior." -Eph 4:31-
**********
A man was criticized for failing to provide for his family. Times were hard. He couldn't find a job so he decided to go into the fish business.
After his first catch, he set up shop underneath a sign he made: 'Fresh Fish for Sale Today!' The first passerby offered a criticism: 'Why would you use the word today? Everyone knows you don't want to sell them yesterday or tomorrow. That leaves only today to sell them.'
So he sawed off that last word and mounted the new version: 'Fresh Fish for Sale.' The next passerby asked, 'Why use the word Fresh? Do you mean to imply that at other times the fish are not fresh?' Again he changed his sign. Now it said, 'Fish for Sale.'
The next critic said, 'Why not leave off the words for Sale? Any numbskull would know that's why you have a fish market?' Finally, he wound up with only the word 'Fish.' Even then, he still had a critic. The next passerby said, 'Why do you need to put up a sign at all? Anyone who comes within half a mile of this place knows from the smell what you are selling!'
Folks who are determined to leave no stone unturned will find something to criticize about any endeavor we undertake.

birthday bash!
my celebration starts today. *smiles*
all thanks to the global mei-nus.. luvya babes. =)
**********
remember how we used to come to office earlier than SC, sing the birthday song at a tempo of 180, and make sure we finish up the cake by 8.30am sharp? yea, those were the days. nowadays, we are getting better at this bday thingy.
so off to MOF we went! was thinking of old-school parkway at first.. but settled for something happening and central in the end.. after all, we're always trying new things aren't we? =p

the everybody-also-can-wear specs
remember this pic? weiwei wore it. now ade and sk are wearing it too! hahha... woke up on sunday with my eyes super small and not ready for contacts (as usual). dressed up and looking stoopid in my ulu specs, i made my way to expo, passing by ting, sk, and a whole load of others, some of which i wished didnt catch me with specs!anyway, after much assurance, i am beginning to think that that pair of specs looks good too. after all, no more expensive specs for me (after losing my $700 one! *cry*)
twisted
you can tell by the looks on their faces, which are the ones who are really twisted, and which aren't. and obviously at that pt in time, i was very relaxed, which explained y i could still be taking photos. *hehe*
*hehe* another chance for me to escape the game, on the pretext of taking photos of cos!
last few standing! shall we play tis another time? =pSunday, November 18, 2007
little wonder aka the building fund song!
Let it go,
Let it roll right off your shoulder
Don't you know
The hardest part is over
Let it in,
Let your clarity define you
In the end
We will only just remember how it feels
**********
yea, the building fund song.. somehow the start of both songs sound strikingly similar!
yea. i am taking time off to smell the flowers. had a busy week. sunday's finally the time for me to rest before i engage in another war on monday. i've seen my office emails. 69 unread. i am dreadful! arghs.

where do we go from here?
have u ever had a thought in your mind and you have no idea where you've heard or seen it from? i do, and it does leave me with many sleepless nights too!
yea, that thought appeared in the form of lyrics to me. one line of lyrics to be exact.
cant actually put a name to the song, but i know that song exists!
and so, weiwei and i set out to find that song! it doesnt really help alot, especially when we only have ONE line of lyrics and its 11.30pm at night.
**********
TADAH! the song that had kept us awake till 3AM!!!
Where do we go from here?
This isn't where we intended to be
We had it all, you believed in me
I believed in you
Certainties disappear
What do we do for our dream to survive?
How do we keep all our passions alive,
As we used to do...

play. pray. prey.
yeaps. saturday passed with me engaged in a series of playing, praying and preying. hehehe..
played a game of modified twister. and smart alec me was the one who thought of it and even thought of the difficult variations! thank God i had been diligent in eating my meds and drinking my glucosamines. if not my knees would have given way even before i start the day... :S
prayed during CG. prayed that my kids learn to open the door of their hearts. sometimes certain hidden secrets and struggles are not for me to unfold. *sigh*
and finally, didn't prey on anything (or anyone) hehehe... fell prey instead to things i consider ok to do when i have the lusury of time. eat, (window)shop, and blog.
created a new tagboard for myself. interface looks prettier, hope it works pretty well too. come leave me a msg when u have the time.
created a blog for weiwei. still considering whether to publicise it anot. hehehe.

God uses ordinary people. Like you and I. :)
Moses stuttered.
David's armor didn't fit.
John Mark was rejected by Paul.
Hosea's wife was a prostitute.
Amos' only training was in the school of fig-tree pruning.
Jacob was a liar.
David had an affair.
Solomon was too rich.
Abraham was too old.
David was too young.
Timothy had ulcers.
Peter was afraid of death.
Lazarus was dead.
John was self-righteous.
Jesus was too poor.
Naomi was a widow.
Paul was a murderer. So was Moses.
Jonah ran from God.
Miriam was a gossip.
Gideon and Thomas both doubted.
Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal.
Elijah was burned out.
John the Baptist was a loudmouth.
Martha was a worrywart.
Samson had long hair.
Noah got drunk.
Did I mention that Moses had a short fuse?
So did Peter, Paul—well, lots of folks did.

baby you will know our love's so sweet

keep on...
I’ve dreamed many a dream that’s never come true,
I’ve seen them vanish at dawn,
But enough of my dreams have come true
To make me keep dreaming on
I’ve prayed many a prayer that seemed no answer would come,
Though I’d waited so patient and long;
But enough answers have come to my prayers
To make me keep praying on
I’ve sown many a seed that’s fallen by the wayside,
For the birds to feed upon
But I’ve held enough golden sheaves in my hands
To make me keep sowing on
I’ve trusted many a friend that’s failed me
And left me to weep alone
But enough of my friends have been true-blue
To make me keep trusting on
I’ve drained the cup of disappointment and pain,
And gone many a day without song
But I’ve sipped enough nectar from the roses of life
To make me want to live on
I’ve seen them vanish at dawn,
But enough of my dreams have come true
To make me keep dreaming on
I’ve prayed many a prayer that seemed no answer would come,
Though I’d waited so patient and long;
But enough answers have come to my prayers
To make me keep praying on

min·is·try /ˈmɪnəstri/ Pronunciation Key - [min-uh-stree]
1. the service, functions, or profession of a minister of religion.
2. the body or class of ministers of religion; clergy.
3. the service, function, or office of a minister of state.
4. the body of ministers of state.
5. (usually initial capital letter) any of the administrative governmental departments of certain countries usually under the direction of a minister of state.

7. the term of office of a minister of state.
8. an act or instance of ministering; ministration; service.
9. something that serves as an agency, instrument, or means.
alright alright. lately there seems to be ALOT of ministries in the limelight. my kids serve in the usher ministry, the nursery ministry in church. and here we are, in the CG ministry.
apart from the usual govt and state ministries, we have the reputable Ministry of Sound.
and den my latest discovery... the Ministry of FOOD. yes, FOOD! pretty delectable food they serve over there. and affordable as well!
so i suppose, in the end, everything that a person does, or a company operates, can be considered a ministry. can someone rope me in into the ministry of ... erm shopping?
must try: the macha soft serve ice cream, with sweet potato or something.

Psalm 27:5
God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants his footsteps in the sea,
And rides upon the storm.
His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.

And rides upon the storm.

Unfolding every hour;

my lil lunch adventure...
today, we went to lunch at east coast road! had the famous beach road prawn mee. a bowl that seemingly looked like it cost $3.50 at a food court is $5 there! but the prawns are really fresh. and huge.
wanted to head towards werner's oven for some german bread. (dun understand, lah. bread = bread, who cares german or french or singaporean...)
but we didnt take long to reckon that it's abit out of point, especially under the hot sun. and so we took a bus (yes, a bus! squeezing with all the temasekians and the st.patricians? machiam excursion can!) to bedok camp and eat the ye lai xiang cheng tng. hehe. for a hot day like today, dat is heavenly. (not for long)
cos soon enough we crossed the road (under the HOT sun) over to cold storage to get munchy! yay! even teabreak is planned for!
so here i am in the office, thinking of desperate measures to shed some pounds off yy. hahahha.
p.s. mel, next time we go ok? :p

the XLB!
oh yes, and lately, i've been into food. good food.
the xiao long bao.. have been craving for it the entire tuesday afternoon. so before meeting at ymca, we zoomed off to PS to hunt for the long awaited XLB.
was disappointed initially that crystal jade didnt have it, but that disappointment quickly dissipated when we found Lao BeiJing on the 3rd floor! hehe..
being the C person i am, i did my sums. a XLB costs $1 each, with gst and stuffs, prolly $1.18. not too much in exchange for a nice satisfying meal, is it?

donuts donuts and more donuts!
have eaten quite a number of donuts since the start of the donut frenzy.. (think bubble tea). now with all the donuts outlets popping up like wildfire.. i wonder if any of them is gonna burst soon..
1. donut factory
i do believe that tis was the first outlet since the onset of donuts.. tim queued for 3 hours juz for a dozen of them! nice packaging they have.. check it out here. ever since, many different 'factories' started their operations. u name it, we have it. chocolate factory, brownie factory, how abt cheng tng factory? :P
2. vinco donuts
situated at vivocity. once i beat the queue and had 21 boxes of 1 dozen each delivered for an event. nice!
3. dunkin donuts
used to have a tiny outlet in singapore. but they have moved out since. i think they still have some delivery every now and then though. all thanks to some entrepreneurial brain.
4. munchy donuts
the latest addition. or at least the latest one i've tried. they have choc banana!!! their motto: one is not enough! (indeed...)
5. krispy kreme
not available in SG. had it once or twice when frens return to sg from holiday. verdict: sugar HIGH.
polling time... which do you think have the nicest donuts in town?
